About the position

NBBJ Seattle is seeking a Junior Level Interior Designer or Interior Architect to join our award-winning design firm, known for its purpose-driven approach that creates healthy places, strong communities, and a resilient environment. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects across different scales, including corporate/commercial, civic and cultural, and healthcare studios. As a Junior Interior Designer, you will be part of high-energy, collaborative teams, engaging proactively in ideation and design processes at all levels. You will provide design and documentation support on projects of varying sizes and complexities, developing and implementing overall design concepts and finish palettes through all phases of design. Responsibilities

  • Participate in high-energy, collaborative teams on a wide range of project types.
  • Engage proactively with the team to participate in ideation at all levels.
  • Provide design and documentation support on projects of various sizes and complexities.
  • Develop and implement overall design concepts and finish palettes through all phases of design.
  • Learn and be curious about new design trends and techniques.

Requirements

  • 5 - 8 years of professional experience in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.
  • LEED Accreditation or within 18 months of hire.
  • Strong conceptual design and schematic design skills.
  • Strong verbal and graphic communication skills.
  • Ability to lead aspects of work with design direction.
  • Proficiency in Revit with essential 3D modeling skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Rhino, and Sketchup.
  • Experience in creating presentation books and materials.
  • Experience with researching, selecting, and specifying materials and finishes.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, open environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Furniture selection experience is beneficial.
  • Corporate and commercial design experience is beneficial.
  • Client presentation skills are beneficial.
