DLR Group is an integrated design firm with a promise to elevate the human experience through design. The Texas Region has an opening for an Interior Designer specializing in K-12 Education, located in either Dallas or Austin. This position operates within a hybrid work model, allowing for flexibility between office time and remote work. As an Interior Designer, you will be responsible for collaborating on the design of complex K-12 Education projects, ranging from schematic design through construction administration. You will work closely with the architectural design leader to develop comprehensive design solutions and collaborate with clients, contractors, vendors, and other team members to ensure the desired design outcomes are achieved. The successful candidate will develop technical solutions to design challenges with creativity and design excellence, while maintaining a disciplined work ethic. You will integrate quality assurance and control, practice standards, and DLR Group protocols, collaborating with Project Managers to coordinate project teams. Your role will also involve maintaining project schedules and coordinating project deliverables. A strong ability in conceptual design, program development, and space planning expertise is essential. You will need to possess a holistic design acumen that addresses 3D space functionality, alignment with programmatic needs, and the performance of materials and volumes. In this role, you will design, document, and detail ideas that are constructable, select appropriate products and materials that align with DLR Group's sustainable commitments, and create graphic presentations to communicate design intent effectively. Regular attendance at site walks and construction administration meetings is expected, where you will articulate the value of coordination with our integrated practice. A strong willingness to grow, learn, and mentor is crucial, along with excellent client, project management, and time management skills. You will prepare and develop drawings, models, images, material and mood boards, and other documents related to the design, working both independently and collaboratively in a cross-disciplinary team atmosphere across multiple offices.
