About the position

We are seeking a passionate, creative Interior Designer with multifamily experience to join our team in Atlanta, GA. The Interior Designer will work closely with the project's design team from concept to completion, ensuring that all design intents are met and that projects are delivered on time and within budget. This role involves collaboration with the Project Manager and requires supervision of the design team, client presentations, and the production of complete, accurate, and well-coordinated documents that adhere to the company's standards. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5-8 years of experience in multifamily design and will be a graduate of an accredited Interior Design program or a related design program with a bachelor's level degree. As an Interior Designer, you will be responsible for managing complex projects, often handling multiple projects simultaneously. You will need to demonstrate strong organizational, coordination, and communication skills, as well as the ability to lead a team of professionals and consultants to meet project objectives. In this role, you will represent the interiors team at client presentations, establish and maintain effective client relationships, and assist the Project Manager in developing project budgets and programs. You will also be responsible for making design and documentation decisions, developing design millwork details, finishes, material palettes, furnishings, and specifications that align with the overall project quality. Your ability to foster a collaborative team atmosphere and encourage team members to achieve their potential will be crucial to the success of the projects you oversee.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a design team to meet project deadlines, construction and FF&A budget targets, and highest design quality standards.
  • Represent the interiors team at client presentations to understand client concept and accurately relay that to the design team.
  • Establish and maintain effective client relationships for the duration of the project.
  • Assist the Project Manager in establishing the project budget and program development.
  • Make design and documentation decisions using discretion and good judgement.
  • Develop and document design millwork details, finishes, material palettes, furnishings and specifications that are consistent with the design direction and support of the overall quality of the project.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing Agent to provide complete FF&A budgets and schedules.
  • Promote a collaborative team atmosphere.
  • Manage designers to foster individual productivity and professional development.
  • Encourage team members to achieve their potential by assigning challenging, yet attainable, project tasks.
  • Assist in project proposals and marketing efforts.
  • Actively participate in professional development.
  • Maintain base state registration, and professional affiliations.
  • Contribute to the overall quality and success of the project, studio and firm.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Interior Design program or a related design program with bachelor's level degree.
  • Registered Interior Designer.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in multifamily design.
  • Creative, collaborative, and able to thrive in a team atmosphere.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high quality, complete sets of drawings for complex projects using required software.
  • Strong understanding of building systems and building codes.
  • Strong organizational, coordination and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team of professionals and consultants to meet project objectives on time and within scope and budget.
  • Competency in all aspects of design.
  • Demonstrated presentation skills.
