About the position

BDG Architects is seeking an experienced Interior Designer to join their Birmingham office. The role involves collaborating with clients to create functional, sustainable, and aesthetically pleasing designs for various project types, including Workplace, Multi-Family, and Hospitality. The designer will work under the supervision of a senior project manager and will be responsible for program development, space planning, and the production of construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of interior design project assignments under the supervision of a senior project manager.
• Develop functional, sustainable, and aesthetic designs in collaboration with client representatives.
• Focus on program development, space planning, and construction documents.
• Select and specify furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E).
• Create sketches and renderings to communicate design concepts.
• Coordinate interior design elements with architecture projects.
• Manage project coordination between project team, clients, vendors, contractors, and consultants.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from an accredited program.
• 5 - 7 years of project experience within an architecture and interior design practice, preferably in hospitality, program, and/or workplace design.
• Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, MS Office, Bluebeam Revu, and Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
• Registered professional Interior Designer in the State of Alabama.
• Advanced knowledge of design trends, construction methods, and material applications.
• Strong organizational, time management, written, and oral communication skills.
