About the position

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a talented Interior Designer to join our team in North Colorado Springs. This position is ideal for individuals looking to make a career change or transition to a new company. The Interior Designer will be responsible for a variety of tasks that include performing site measures at clients' homes, producing CAD drawings efficiently and accurately, and providing pre-construction services along with construction documents and packets for bidding and construction. The role also involves miscellaneous showroom duties, such as maintaining displays and providing support to Stewart designers to ensure client satisfaction and project success. In this role, the Interior Designer will be expected to design within the client's budget while meeting individual design prospect schedule goals. Effective communication is key, as the designer will serve as a link between clients, project managers, trades, and the internal design team. The designer will generate ideas and create 3D images to portray design concepts, as well as create and present interior design concepts that respond to client needs and adhere to code requirements. Additionally, the designer will work closely with clients to define project requirements, develop design criteria, and attend planning and construction meetings. The position also requires the creation of estimates, scheduling, and coordination with trades to ensure project completion. The designer will be responsible for creating purchase orders, pricing finish materials, and ordering products upon signing construction contracts. Staying up to date with new products, trends, and tools is essential, as is visiting prospective clients' homes as part of the sales team. This part-time position offers roughly 5-10 hours of work per week, with the potential to grow into a full-time role.

Responsibilities

  • Perform site measures at client's homes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in interior design from a CIDA accredited program
  • Proficient in SketchUp, AutoCAD, and/or comparable software
  • Must be able to create graphic presentations and construction drawings
  • 2+ years of experience as an interior designer/architect in a similar field
  • Strong interior design, organization, and communication skills
  • Attention to visual details
  • Ability to work independently, efficiently, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple clients
  • Ability to multitask
