About the position

The Interior Designer position at Hord Coplan Macht, Inc. focuses on the PK-12 Education Market Sector, where the designer will collaborate with team members and consultants to create exceptional educational spaces. The role requires strong communication and design skills to manage and coordinate projects from conception through completion, ensuring that designs are informed by educational philosophies and community needs.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with team members, engineers, and other consultants for coordination of work.
• Utilizes space planning and 3D visualization to create designs and carry them through to completion.
• Delivers design intent verbally, graphically, and in writing to the internal design team, clients, consultants, and contractors.
• Contributes to the production of design documents and detailed development of construction documents during all project phases.
• Reviews shop drawings, material submittals, and conducts periodic site visits during construction.
• Performs layout and assembly of material boards.
• Assembles furniture presentations, specification packages, and interior design and finish presentations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design.
• 5-8 years of interior design experience on educational projects preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and graphic communication skills.
• Excellent knowledge of design software such as Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Lumion, or Enscape.
• Possesses general knowledge of building codes and ADA guidelines as they relate to life safety and space planning.
