About the position

Stocks Office Furniture, a division of Warehouse Direct Inc., is seeking a talented Interior Designer to join our team. This position is pivotal in assisting clients and end-users in determining, designing, and coordinating their space planning needs to create a professional, functional, and aesthetically pleasing environment. The Interior Designer Representative will work closely with clients to ensure that their spaces comply with ADA regulations and adhere to best ergonomic practices. This role may also involve coordinating installations, conducting walk-throughs, and addressing any issues that arise, such as missing parts, damaged products, or changes made by contractors. In this role, you will provide design services to dealership customers, perform site and inventory verifications, and conduct space planning. You will be responsible for establishing typical development processes, working with color boards, and creating working and installation drawings. Additionally, you will review site plans to ensure accuracy and compliance with client requirements. Collaboration with purchasing and installation groups is essential to ensure that all plans and specifications are accurate and meet the needs of our clients. Responsibilities

  • Assist clients in determining their space planning needs.
  • Design and coordinate space planning to achieve a professional and functional look.
  • Ensure compliance with ADA regulations and ergonomic best practices.
  • Coordinate installations and conduct walk-throughs as necessary.
  • Resolve issues related to missing parts, damaged products, and contractor changes.
  • Provide design services to dealership customers.
  • Perform site and inventory verifications.
  • Establish typical development processes for projects.
  • Work with color boards to create appealing designs.
  • Create working and installation drawings, specifications, and conduct site-to-plan reviews.
  • Collaborate closely with dealership customers and installation groups to ensure accurate plans and specifications.
  • Adhere to client requirements and ensure quality customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or 2 years of business or design experience.
  • Completion of a four-year college degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Previous experience in interior design and/or furniture sales or related fields.
  • Familiarity with design software such as 2020 software, Revit, CET Designer, AutoCAD, or Team Design is preferred.
  • Understanding of workplace environment issues including ergonomics and technology integration.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and computer communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of applicable building codes and ADA regulations.
  • Preferably has knowledge of dealership's contract furniture lines such as Allsteel, HON, and OFS.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with 2020 software, Revit, CET Designer, AutoCAD, or Team Design.
  • Knowledge of dealership's contract furniture lines (Allsteel, HON, OFS).
