About the position

The Interior Designer at Alternative Business Furniture, Inc. is responsible for consulting with clients to understand their needs and providing tailored design solutions. This role involves creating space plans, rendered drawings, and concept presentations, while collaborating with various professionals to ensure project success. The designer will work closely with the sales team and manufacturer partners to deliver compelling designs that meet client expectations.

Responsibilities

• Consult with clients in a team atmosphere to learn needs and propose solutions.
• Provide Space Plans, rendered drawings, and develop Concept Presentations to help customers visualize the right solutions.
• Assist and coordinate with other professionals, such as contractors, architects, and engineers to ensure job success.
• Review detailed drawings and customize information for different stakeholders.
• Work directly with our manufacturer partners to provide proposed solutions.
• Collaborate with the sales team to provide compelling designs and solutions to win business.
• Conduct site visits and measurements to ensure needed information is provided.
• On-site walk-throughs during and following projects to ensure the interior plan is realized.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited school.
• 2+ years of Commercial Interior Design experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, 3-D programs, 20-20 CAP, SketchUp, Excel, and other modeling software programs.
• Proficient in Creative Adobe Suite Applications- Illustrator, Revit, and Bluebeam are a plus.
• Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, and specifications is a must.
• Strong graphic and visualization skills to communicate design ideas.
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
• Willingness to offer strong opinions in a fast-paced and supportive atmosphere.
• Ability to thrive with autonomy and find practical solutions for both customer and company.

Nice-to-haves

• Furniture dealership industry experience is a plus.
• Systems Furniture Specification skills a plus.
