About the position

The Senior Interior Designer at Highgate Senior Living plays a crucial role in overseeing and executing interior design projects, ensuring they are completed accurately and on time. This position requires a blend of technical skills in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, along with strong leadership capabilities. The designer will collaborate with various departments and travel for on-site project coordination and installation, making it a dynamic and hands-on role.

Responsibilities

  • Produce, review & correct Interior Design technical CAD drawings including plans, elevations, sections, details, millwork, lighting, electrical & power.
  • Coordinate with ID Department, Facilities & Construction Management for the installation of purchased goods.
  • Prepare budgets and proposals for projects.
  • Assist in determining yearly Capital Expenditures.
  • Update the office's material and FF&E library.
  • Develop small & large renovations and new build projects.
  • Produce, send, record & track purchase orders for materials and goods.
  • Review order acknowledgments, proformas, invoices & deliveries against orders.
  • Handle non-supplied, under orders, over orders, and damaged goods.
  • Ensure invoices are sent to accounts for payment.
  • Produce and maintain all reports related to projects.
  • Suggest alternate products for approval to produce cost/time savings.
  • Produce & supply maintenance guidelines & MDSD Sheets for purchased goods when required.
  • Research materials to support the Highgate team on technical issues influencing design development.
  • Select materials & produce specifications of FF&E.
  • Compile up-to-date records for all projects during their progress.
  • Maintain diaries in the office & undertake all filing as required.
  • Arrange and attend meetings, taking minutes if necessary.
  • Prepare marketing materials such as 2D & 3D floor plans, project presentations & display boards.
  • Reconcile & submit all p-card transactions & expenses by the deadline each month.
  • Maintain & submit accurate records of hours worked, allocated to each specific project.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in a design firm.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Leadership skills to promote excellence in design.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Senior Living or hospitality and multi-family sectors.
  • Familiarity with project management software.
