About the position

M.S. Vicas Interiors is a luxury interior design studio located in Washington, DC, known for its classical details, rich colors, patterns, and textures. The firm skillfully blends antique and custom furnishings with modern and European art, creating distinctive interiors that have been featured in numerous prestigious publications. We are currently seeking a talented Mid-Level Interior Designer to join our passionate and dedicated team. This role is pivotal in developing and executing high-end residential design projects, working closely with our Principal and Senior Designers to create sophisticated and elegant interiors that reflect our clients' visions and our signature style. As a Mid-Level Designer, you will be responsible for collaborating on project concepts, design development, and execution. You will assist in creating detailed design presentations, including mood boards, color palettes, and material selections. Your role will also involve preparing and presenting design proposals to clients, incorporating their feedback into refined designs. You will develop and maintain project schedules to ensure timely delivery of design milestones and will source and specify furniture, fixtures, fabrics, and accessories while coordinating with vendors and suppliers. Additionally, you will create and review detailed drawings, floor plans, and elevations, oversee project installations, and attend client meetings and site visits to ensure alignment with project goals and client expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Principal and Senior Designers on project concepts, design development, and execution.
  • Assist in creating detailed design presentations, including mood boards, color palettes, and material selections.
  • Prepare and present design proposals to clients, incorporating their feedback into refined designs.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely delivery of design milestones.
  • Source and specify furniture, fixtures, fabrics, and accessories, coordinating with vendors and suppliers.
  • Create and review detailed drawings, floor plans, and elevations.
  • Oversee project installations, ensuring quality and design integrity are maintained.
  • Attend client meetings and site visits to ensure alignment with project goals and client expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in high-end residential interior design.
  • Strong proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Keen eye for detail and a strong sense of aesthetics.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Passion for design and a collaborative spirit.

Nice-to-haves

  • Customer service experience (1 year preferred).
  • Experience with APIs (1 year preferred).
