About the position

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Interior Designer to join our dynamic team at Go Home Builders, Inc. The ideal candidate will have a passion for design and a strong understanding of spatial aesthetics, functionality, and client needs. This role involves conceptualizing and executing design solutions that enhance the beauty and functionality of residential spaces, working closely with clients and contractors to bring their vision to life through innovative design strategies. Additionally, the Interior Designer will plan construction projects and oversee their progress.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients to determine their needs, preferences, and budget for interior spaces.
  • Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion.
  • Create detailed design plans, including layouts, color schemes, furniture selections, and lighting designs.
  • Utilize software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Sketchup to draft and present design concepts.
  • Develop 3D renderings and visual presentations to effectively communicate design ideas.
  • Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and ensure designs are implemented correctly.
  • Coordinate with contractors, architects, and vendors to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Manage project budgets and timelines while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies to provide innovative solutions.
  • Review the work progress on a daily basis.
  • Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
  • Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field.
  • Proficiency in design software including AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong skills in budgeting and project management.
  • Knowledge of lighting design principles and ability to integrate them into projects.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly to clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to draft precise plans and specifications.
  • A portfolio showcasing previous design projects is required for consideration.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in residential or commercial interior design is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with all facets of the construction process and construction CRM software.
  • Ability to plan and see the 'big picture'.
  • Friendly personality with high communication skills.
  • Experience with talking to clients.
  • Preferably working experience in a construction company.
  • Knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods.
  • Knowledge of building products, construction details, quality standards and reports making.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
