About the position

Actalent, a full-service architecture and interior design firm located in Chicago, is seeking an Interior Designer to join their dynamic team. This role involves assisting the Senior Designer in various aspects of interior design, including the development of design concepts, selection of furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E), space planning, and the creation of construction and presentation drawings. The Interior Designer will play a crucial role in communicating design ideas to clients through various mediums such as mock-ups, models, computer graphics, and written reports. In addition to design work, the Interior Designer will participate in submittal reviews, manage punch lists, and address additional project closeout needs. The role also includes assisting with the preparation of Request for Proposals (RFP) and Request for Qualifications (RFQ) materials. The designer will be responsible for generating architectural concepts for interior projects, which encompasses furniture and equipment planning, floor plan analysis, integrated structural components, and visual design concepts, including the selection of materials. Responsibilities

  • Assist Senior Designer with design concepts, FF&E, space planning, construction drawings, presentation drawings/materials, specs and client presentations
  • Communicate design ideas to clients through mock-ups, models, computer graphics, and written reports
  • Participate in submittal reviews, punch lists and additional project closeout needs
  • Assist with RFP/RFQ materials
  • Generate architectural concepts for interiors projects such as furniture and equipment planning, floor plan analysis, integrated structural components, and visual design concepts, including materials

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as an Interior Design Professional
  • Bachelor's Degree in an accredited Interior Design program or equivalent is required
  • NCIDQ Licensure is highly preferred, but not required
  • Must be proficient in Revit; Adobe Creative Suite is preferred
