About the position

The Senior Interior Designer at Ford Motor Company will play a crucial role in shaping the future of electric vehicle design. This position involves working on both advanced and production interior projects, focusing on creating innovative and compelling interior design experiences. The designer will collaborate with various teams to ensure a holistic design vision that meets customer needs and aligns with global trends in the automotive industry.

Responsibilities

  • Develop conceptual and production-based interior solutions through sketches, renderings, and 3D digital models.
  • Create compelling and innovative interior design experiences for design projects.
  • Explore human-centered design with an emphasis on holistic interior experiences.
  • Coordinate the work of other design personnel to achieve cohesive design visions.
  • Create future brand-focused design visions that align with Ford's objectives.
  • Engage in problem-solving around connectivity, mobility, and consumer segments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial design, Transportation Design, or a similar field, or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of automotive or transportation design experience, including final design product execution.
  • 1+ years of experience translating 2D designs to 3D with a strong emphasis on proportions and form.
  • A design portfolio (pdf) must be provided upon application.

Nice-to-haves

  • Global interior design experience.
  • Good understanding of exterior/interior manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Passion for the automotive and mobility industry, global trends, innovation, and customer needs.
  • Experience working in or with creative cultures.
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders across complex projects.

  • Ability to work independently and provide strong technical aesthetic judgment.
  • Awareness of global automotive and consumer electronics trends.
  • Demonstrated creative exterior/interior design perceptions and capabilities.
  • Collaboration experience with engineering, suppliers, and other partners.
