About the position

Epstein is seeking an innovative and hard-working Interior Designer to join their team. This role focuses on interior architecture across various market sectors, including Aviation, Hospitality, Corporate, Retail, Multi-Family, and Industrial. The ideal candidate will collaborate with design, engineering, and technical leadership, work directly with clients, and present design solutions effectively. The position requires a motivated individual capable of managing multiple projects, preparing design documents, and mentoring junior team members.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and understand the client's needs and objectives to create programmatic requirements.
  • Interact with clients, consultants, and public agencies on all assigned projects.
  • Initiate, create, and present design ideas.
  • Identify and analyze critical issues and implement project influences into design constraints.
  • Develop conceptual strategies, including design sketches, three-dimensional modeling, and plan development.
  • Coordinate with team members, including contractors, architects, and engineers to ensure project success.
  • Select furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE).
  • Conduct research for product and finish selections; assist in developing finish plans and specifications.
  • Produce construction documentation, including drawings, details, and specifications.
  • Adhere to building codes and ADA compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Participate in and occasionally lead the Construction Administration phase of the project.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
  • NCIDQ certification preferred.
  • 4-6 years of project design experience.
  • Technical proficiency in Revit and Design and Rendering/Modeling programs such as Enscape, 3D Studio Max, or Rhino.
  • Technical proficiency in Bluebeam and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, etc).
  • Strong skills in programming, space planning, and materials selection.
  • Substantial knowledge of construction documents, building codes, ANSI / ADA, and BOMA Standards.
  • Working experience in all phases of a design project.
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively.
  • Strong organization, planning, and prioritization skills.
