About the position

As an Interior Designer at JM Construction, you will play a pivotal role in transforming residential spaces into exceptional living environments. Your primary responsibility will be to gather information from both the sales staff and clients to create accurate drawings that reflect the vision and requirements of each project. You will ensure that all designs are not only aesthetically pleasing but also practical and feasible, adhering to the project’s budget and timeline. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction throughout the remodeling journey. In this position, you will assist the sales team during contract signings, conduct detailed customer interviews, and take precise measurements to inform your conceptual drawings. You will collaborate closely with trade contractors, providing them with project specifications and ensuring that all necessary materials are ordered and delivered on time. Your role will also involve preparing comprehensive construction drawings that comply with permitting requirements and company policies, thus ensuring a smooth transition from design to execution. Responsibilities

  • Gather information from sales staff and clients to create accurate drawings.
  • Assist sales staff at contract signings and conduct customer interviews.
  • Take measurements and create conceptual drawings for projects.
  • Meet with trade contractors and send concept drawings for project estimates.
  • Provide trade contractors with project specifications, including fixture types.
  • Complete construction drawings as per agreements, ensuring they meet permitting requirements and company policies.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction throughout the project.
  • Prepare the job for construction upon job acceptance, finalize contracts, and complete the job folder with the Operations Manager.
  • Attend pre-construction meetings with the salesperson, lead carpenter, and homeowner to discuss details and potential issues.
  • Order special materials, ensuring timely delivery and selection with the homeowner.
  • Stay within the parameters of the project's budget and timeline.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Architectural Design.
  • 5+ years of experience in Residential Design.
  • Degree in a Design-related field (preferred).
  • Proficient in Chief Architect software (preferred).
  • Proficient in 2020 Software (preferred).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with project management software.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing previous residential design projects.
