About the position

Williams Architects is seeking a full-time Interior Designer to join their team in Itasca, IL. This role is ideal for recent graduates or newly licensed interior designers looking to gain experience in a collaborative environment focused on public sector projects. The position involves participating in design processes, preparing construction documents, and managing material selections under the guidance of the Director of Interior Design.

Responsibilities

• Collaboratively participate in the project design and concept development process internally and with clients.
• Prepare design and construction document interior design (ID) deliverables for public sector projects using Revit, SketchUp, Lumion, and Photoshop.
• Identify and select appropriate finish materials for projects, obtain samples, and develop full interior finish and furniture palettes.
• Create furniture specifications and bidding documents.
• Develop and maintain relationships with finish and furniture vendors.
• Maintain and organize design and material library, filing of materials and projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in interior design.
• 1-5 years of progressive full-time interior design experience (not including summer internships) within an architectural or interior design firm.
• Proficiency in Revit and Photoshop required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organization, multi-tasking, and time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with public sector projects and public bidding processes highly desirable.
• NCIDQ license/certification track preferred.
• Lumion, Enscape, and/or SketchUp modeling/rendering experience highly desirable.
