About the position

Nicholas Lawrence Design Associates LLC is seeking a talented Interior Designer to join their team in Palm Desert, CA. The ideal candidate will leverage their knowledge and experience in design principles to create, define, and maintain project aesthetics that align with the unique style and preferences of Nicholas Lawrence Design clients. This role involves working on both new and existing spaces, ensuring that each project reflects a high level of quality and innovation. The Interior Designer will collaborate closely with design teams on various innovative projects, enhancing the stylish image of each endeavor while executing high-quality design work. Key responsibilities include working with project managers and lead designers to assess and determine client goals, needs, and design standards across a diverse range of projects. The designer will be responsible for creating comprehensive design and construction documents, which encompass floor plans, furniture layouts, millwork and cabinet designs, lighting and electrical plans, elevations, sections, custom details, as well as pricing and specifications. In addition to technical design work, the Interior Designer will create design renders that consider the specific project space and clientele. Regular meetings with design and purchasing teams will be necessary to coordinate and review the status of all projects, including timelines and cost estimates. The designer will also participate in client presentations, preparing presentation boards to effectively communicate design concepts. Organizational skills will be essential for maintaining the design library and project binders, as well as assisting with project installations to ensure client satisfaction. Other duties may be assigned as needed, contributing to the overall success of the design team.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with design teams on innovative design projects to enhance project aesthetics.
  • Work with project managers and lead designers to assess and determine client goals and design standards.
  • Create design and construction documents, including floorplans, furniture plans, and lighting plans.
  • Develop design renders considering project space and clientele.
  • Meet with design and purchasing teams to coordinate project status, timelines, and cost estimates.
  • Participate in client presentations and prepare presentation boards.
  • Organize and maintain design library and project binders.
  • Assist with project installations and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Interior Design or related field (or foreign equivalent).
  • One (1) year of experience in the job offered or related positions.
  • One (1) year of experience researching and specifying materials, furnishings, and products.
  • One (1) year of experience creating digital designs in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software.
  • One (1) year of experience in full-cycle project design and design presentations.
  • One (1) year of experience in coordinating project installations.
