HDR is looking for an experienced Interior Designer to join our Florida Interiors Studio. This position can be located in Tampa, Orlando, or Jacksonville. The Interior Designer will take responsibility for interior design for projects, developing functional requirements and addressing project design complexities. The role requires substantial knowledge of interior design and planning principles, building and planning code requirements, specification preparation and organization, construction costs and methods, and contract preparation and negotiation. The designer will demonstrate experience in selecting interior details, materials, color selections, furniture and furnishings selections, lighting design, space planning, and detailing. Responsibilities also include working with clients on projects of any size, directing work efforts of others, developing detailed design concepts, producing contract documents, interpreting ordinances, and interpreting client needs. The designer will write specifications covering interior design matters, perform code reviews, coordinate work with other disciplines, assist other Interior Designers or Technicians, and work in all phases of the interior design process. This position requires a commitment to being an active participant in our employee-owned culture, and the ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of interior design experience, with healthcare design experience being a strong plus. A Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture is required, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant design firm environment. The candidate should also be a NCIDQ certificate holder and possess an ID license in the state where applicable.
