About the position

The Interior Designer at STV, Inc. will be responsible for defining design elements and processes to meet client needs, coordinating project estimates, and ensuring performance to contracts. This role involves planning and developing complex design projects, providing support throughout the project lifecycle, and collaborating with various stakeholders. The designer will also review junior staff's work, perform quality control, and may supervise direct reports. The position requires strong organizational skills, creativity, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Define design or project elements and processes to meet client needs.
  • Participate in and coordinate estimates and proposal/bid preparations.
  • Plan and develop design projects concerning unique and/or controversial complexities.
  • Participate in the conceptual design and provide full support through the entire project.
  • Coordinate with project management, architects, and other designers on technical solutions.
  • Review junior staff's work for technical accuracy and provide guidance.
  • Perform quality control reviews and ensure achievement of key milestones.
  • Conduct field reviews, inspections, and observations of ongoing construction projects.
  • Supervise direct reports, including hiring and performance management.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or a related field from an accredited university.
  • 1 to 3 years of related experience in architectural planning and design required.
  • Knowledge of commercial office furniture systems and standards.
  • Experience with 3D modeling software for conceptual planning and predesign studies.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Analytical skills and creative vision.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience with Higher Education projects.
