About the position

Christian Daw Design is seeking an experienced Interior Designer to join their boutique interior and architectural design firm located in Bethesda, MD. The ideal candidate will have a strong appreciation for architecture and construction, and will engage in all aspects of the interior design process, from conceptualization to installation. This role emphasizes collaboration with both the architectural team and clients to create cohesive and inspiring spaces that reflect the clients' lifestyles and preferences.

Responsibilities

• Engage in every part of the interior design process, from conceptualization through installation.
• Work closely with architects and partner firms to ensure harmonious integration of construction materials and design elements.
• Source and specify materials, finishes, and custom furnishings that align with project styles and needs.
• Develop strong relationships with clients to understand their needs and guide them through the design process.
• Oversee coordination of materials and design elements with vendors, contractors, and fabricators.

Requirements

• 3+ years of residential design experience, ideally with exposure to architectural detailing and higher-end manufacturers.
• A comprehensive design portfolio showcasing creativity, style, and an understanding of architectural integration.
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and finishes, with the ability to source and specify products.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and any 3D rendering software; familiarity with Microsoft Office and Studio Designer is a plus.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with team members and managing project timelines.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with Studio Designer software.
• Experience in higher-end residential design projects.
