About the position

The Interior Designer at Blackberry is responsible for the design and presentation drafting of various interior design projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial spaces. This role involves collaborating with the Design Manager and Director of Design to create practical and aesthetic designs that meet client specifications while managing project budgets and timelines. The designer will oversee junior team members and ensure that all deliverables are prepared for client presentations and project execution.

Responsibilities

• Perform design and presentation drafting for various building types.
• Plan, design, and furnish interiors of residential, commercial, or industrial buildings.
• Conduct preliminary site studies and assess site potential to meet client specifications.
• Manage project budget and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Coordinate team meetings with Design Manager and Director of Design to discuss project direction.
• Create and send Design Clarifications per client direction and Blackberry Farm Standards.
• Confirm contractor schedules and manage communication with contractors.
• Oversee junior designers in creating deliverables presentations and furniture floor plans.
• Draw and manage interior elevations and electrical plans.
• Source finishes, fixtures, furnishings, and present to Design Manager for approval.
• Attend site visits and oversee construction to ensure plans are implemented correctly.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Hospitality and/or Residential design.
• Completed Degree in Interior Design.
• Professional-level proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
• Excellent verbal and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Revit is a plus.
• Familiarity with databases and information systems.
• Ability to learn new software quickly.
