About the position

The Interior Designer at La-Z-Boy is responsible for creating comfortable and functional environments that reflect clients' lifestyles and preferences. This role involves in-home consultations, driving sales, and training design associates while adhering to store operational standards. Designers are compensated with a salary plus commission on written sales, with no commission cap, allowing for significant earning potential.

Responsibilities

• Schedule professional home consultations to present customized room designs, including sample fabrics, furniture, tables, and accessory recommendations.
• Accurately complete order information, collect deposits and fees, and maintain orderly customer records.
• Support design-related functions in the store and maintain an up-to-date customized portfolio.
• Drive sales to consistently achieve established sales goals.
• Team with the selling team to promote the In-Home Design program and drive overall store sales.
• Train, coach, and develop Design Associates on product knowledge and selling skills.
• Adhere to general store operational procedures and guidelines.
• May be responsible for opening and closing of the store.
• Be willing and able to jump into every sale and close it.

Requirements

• Associates in Interior Design or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 18 years or older.
• Professional dress and appearance.
• Reliable vehicle with driver's license.

Nice-to-haves
