About the position

Oneida Professional Services (OPS) is actively seeking a highly motivated, full-time Interior Designer in Washington DC. The role involves developing design strategies for new construction projects and the renovation of existing building interiors. The Interior Designer will provide architectural and space planning solutions, which include the preparation of architectural drawings and the review of design intent drawings. This position requires project team coordination for finished plans, specifications, and material selection necessary for construction. The designer will produce AutoCAD construction drawings and perform support functions as directed to meet the budget, schedule, and project design goals. Collaboration with project team members is essential to ensure compliance with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and safety, and Agency requirements. The Interior Designer will gather project requirements, build estimates, develop schedules, and execute projects effectively. They will also be responsible for developing project briefings and presentations for senior management, maintaining and organizing project files, invoices, estimates, and vendor information. Investigating and resolving facility construction and renovation issues is a critical part of the role. Additionally, the designer will coordinate facility planning requirements, including IT, Security, furniture procurement, configuration, and construction. Other job-related duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Produce AutoCAD construction drawings and perform support functions as directed to meet budget, schedule, and project design goals.

  • Gather project requirements; build estimates, develop schedules, and execute projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
  • 5 years of related experience with furniture procurement and installation.
  • PMP Certification desired.
  • Experience working as a contractor for federal agencies, specifically the Department of Homeland Security.
  • Knowledge/experience with various planning concepts, such as office hoteling, desk sharing, and team sharing areas.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with MS Project.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to obtain and hold a Background Investigation.
