About the position

Haskell is seeking a creative mid-career Interior Designer to join their Design & Consulting Team. This role involves collaborating with Architects, Engineers, and construction experts to design impactful spaces for federal projects. The designer will be responsible for various design duties, including programming, space planning, and construction documentation, while ensuring compliance with building codes and sustainability requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform interior design duties related to programming, space planning, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.
• Determine and satisfy building code and sustainability requirements.
• Select and specify interior finishes, furniture, lighting, artwork, and interior signage.
• Produce presentation graphics in the form of drawings, sketches, and 3D models to convey design vision to clients and end users.
• Generate interior construction documents including finish plans, furniture plans, elevations, sections, details, and schedules.
• Coordinate with the design and construction team, consultants, vendors, and owners.
• Participate in field verification, site inspections, shop drawing review, and other related construction administration activities.
• Collaborate with other interior design staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design from a CIDA accredited school.
• 5-8 years of interior design experience.
• NCIDQ Certification is required.
• Federal project experience is highly preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Sustainability credentials such as LEED AP or WELL AP preferred.
• Proficiency in Revit and knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, 3ds Max, Rhino, Lumion, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) are preferred.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
