About the position

We are currently seeking talented Interior Designers to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conceptualizing and creating visually stunning and functional interior designs while developing a solid client base and pipeline through interactions with customers in our beautifully appointed showrooms. This role requires a strong eye for detail and a firm understanding of design principles, color, and texture, combined with a solid professional sales background. The Interior Designer will be responsible for processing sales transactions, returns, and special orders, ensuring that all necessary documentation is accurate and complete. As an Interior Designer at Robb & Stucky, you will work closely with clients to understand their needs and preferences, providing personalized design solutions that reflect their unique style. You will prepare design presentations using various visual media, including fabrics, finishes, photos, and floor plans, both in-house and digitally. Additionally, you will collaborate with our CAD team to provide accurate measurements for presentations and utilize room planner programs to assist in studio presentations for clients. Your role will also involve efficiently handling sales functions, completing sales records and reports, and maintaining good interpersonal relations with clients to project a positive company image. Responsibilities

  • Work one-on-one with customers in retail showrooms.
  • Prepare design presentations using visual media including fabric, finishes, photos, and floor plans.
  • Provide accurate measurements to the CAD Team for presentations.
  • Utilize room planner programs or CAD assistance for studio presentations to clients.
  • Handle sales functions efficiently, including processing transactions and returns.
  • Complete sales records and reports accurately.
  • Establish and maintain good interpersonal relations with clients.
  • Project a positive company image to the public.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or 2 to 4 years of related experience and/or training.
  • Experience in high-end furniture sales is preferred.
  • ASID certification preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent communication and administrative skills.
  • Experience with CAD and moderate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Valid Driver License with a clean driving record.
  • Reliable transportation and verification of minimum state-required car insurance.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Solid math abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in sales within the interior design or furniture industry.
  • Familiarity with design software and tools.
