This is a full-time position paid hourly located in Northville, Michigan. The Interior Designer will be required to work during traditional business hours from Monday through Friday, with some variability due to unique project needs. This is not a remote position; the majority of the work for this role is on-site or in the studio. The position is for immediate hire and involves working within a team environment, collaborating directly with the Principal Designer, Studio Assistant, and Director of Operations. The ideal candidate will be a polished, detail-oriented self-starter, possessing strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. A working knowledge of interior design software is essential, along with prior experience at an interior design firm, as the candidate will be expected to manage multiple projects of various sizes and scales simultaneously. The Interior Designer will be responsible for collaborating with the design team to ensure the execution of all project goals through all design phases, including project management and construction administration. This includes taking end-to-end ownership for the design and execution of select client projects, attending consultations independently or as support to the Principal Designer, and maintaining detailed notes of meetings to support the execution of resulting action items. The designer will also attend construction installations and meet trades at projects to ensure project specifications are accurately executed. Additionally, the role involves independently measuring and building preliminary floor plans, assisting the Principal Designer in final floor plan design, and producing floor plans, CAD elevations, sketches, details, furniture plans, renderings, and selection specifications. The designer will be expected to formulate designs under the guidance of the Principal Designer, work independently on sourcing materials and construction for clients, and collaborate with the team to create client proposals and selection schedules. Monitoring project budgets, keeping schedules on time, and keeping the Principal Designer informed are also key responsibilities. The designer should take initiative, problem-solve, collaborate, and communicate effectively with the team, prioritize tasks, and coordinate the completion of projects. Finally, the designer will develop, prepare, and produce quality presentations and assist with furniture and decor installations.
