As an Interior Designer, you will play a crucial role in this mission by designing and creating comfortable and functional environments that reflect the client's lifestyle, artistic taste, and budget. This position involves conducting in-home consultations where you will present customized room designs, including fabric samples, furniture, tables, and accessory recommendations, while also highlighting the benefits of our professional installation services. You will be responsible for accurately completing order information, collecting deposits and fees, maintaining organized customer records, and researching customer payments and deliveries. Additionally, you will support design-related functions in the store and maintain an up-to-date customized portfolio that showcases before and after pictures of previous in-home design projects. In this role, you will also be expected to drive sales to consistently achieve established sales goals. Collaborating with the selling team, you will promote the In-Home Design program and contribute to overall store sales. A strong knowledge of the features and benefits of both existing and new product lines is essential to provide excellent customer experiences. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to develop your leadership skills by training, coaching, and developing Design Associates on product knowledge and selling skills to help achieve store sales goals. You will lead with the highest ethical standards and expect the same from your team members. Operationally, you will adhere to general store procedures and guidelines, and may be responsible for opening and closing the store. Flexibility is key, as you will be expected to jump into every sale and close it, along with performing other duties as assigned. The pay structure includes a training pay of $20 an hour for the first 3-4 weeks, followed by a salary of $27,000 per year plus commission on net written design sales and other sales. This position requires a commitment to professional appearance and availability during evenings, weekends, and most holidays, with the exception of Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter. A reliable vehicle and valid driver's license are also required, as mileage will be reimbursed.
