About the position

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Interior Designer to join their growing teams across various locations in the US. The role involves applying technical proficiency to solve architectural interior design problems, creating dynamic spaces for medium to large projects, and preparing design documents that align with client briefs. The position also supports business development efforts and requires collaboration with senior architects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop project scope in collaboration with senior Project Interior Architect.
  • Seek guidance from senior staff to develop design concepts and make timely design decisions.
  • Present professionally to clients and maintain a 'seller-doer' approach.
  • Perform programming, space planning, and other conceptual design activities.
  • Select materials, finishes, fittings, fixtures, and interior lighting.
  • Prepare design development and concept sketches.
  • Develop designs into construction documents and direct a project team.
  • Create basic and informative 3D building information in Revit or other CAD/BIM formats.
  • Prepare a complete set of construction documents in BIM.
  • Lead and mentor junior designers in producing construction documents.
  • Redline documents for production using BlueBeam or similar software.
  • Coordinate with sub-consultants and mentor junior staff.
  • Create presentation materials and exhibits for clients and team reviews.
  • Perform site and field work including observations and existing facility inventory.
  • Provide status reports on progress of architectural interior documents.
  • Complete assignments efficiently and self-perform quality control on work.
  • Maintain and coordinate project BIM model and knowledge of construction document standards.
  • Consult manufacturers for materials and finishes, and inspect architectural features in the field.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture and/or Interior Design or equivalent education and work experience.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of relevant work experience in interior design and technical detailing.
  • Expertise in BIM/Revit and AutoCAD.
  • In process of obtaining NCIDQ Certification and licensed in at least one state.
  • Working knowledge of national building codes, life safety codes, and ADA compliance.
  • LEED AP certification is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
