About the position

The Interior Designer position at American Structurepoint is designed for a creative and ambitious individual who is passionate about design and problem-solving. This role involves collaborating with senior designers and project architects on various project phases, utilizing advanced software and digital modeling techniques to create innovative design solutions that meet client needs and enhance community quality of life.

Responsibilities

  • Learn from and work with Senior Designers on a diverse range of project types.
  • Work directly with Senior Designers and Project Architects through Programming, Visioning, Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Documentation phases of a project.
  • Coordinate with Architects and Consultants to refine design elements throughout all phases.
  • Perform 3D modeling for development of design concepts and client presentation needs utilizing Sketchup.
  • Assist in the development of design documentation utilizing Revit including 3D models, plans, programming, visioning, material presentations, and FF&E packages.
  • Regularly communicate with manufacturer representatives to order samples, confirm and negotiate pricing, and coordinate installation needs for drawing documentation.
  • Formulate design options that are practical, aesthetic, and supportive of the clients' business objectives.
  • Communicate with Contractors as needed during both design and construction to provide design direction and clarification.
  • Coordinate with specification writer to ensure CSI specifications support the design intent.

Requirements

  • Completed a bachelor's or master's degree in interior design from a CIDA accredited program.
  • 3+ years of relevant design experience is required.
  • Must demonstrate a strong design portfolio with an emphasis on graphics and visualization to effectively communicate design ideas.
  • Extensive experience in the design and documentation process.
  • Must have strong technical knowledge of interior construction.
  • Familiarity with sustainable design concepts is preferred.
  • NCIDQ certified or have goals to pursue interior design certification or licensure are preferred.
  • A LEED AP with Specialty, WELL AP, or FitWel credential or ability to obtain within one year of hire date is preferred.
  • Excellent Sketchup, Revit, and InDesign modeling ability is highly preferred.
  • Previous experience and desire to lead design projects is highly preferred.
