About the position

BB&E Inc is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Interior Designer to provide technical support and facilities planning for the Architecture program at the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) located at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA)-Lackland, TX. The role involves working on facility architectural design, interior design knowledge management, and landscape architecture knowledge management, ensuring compliance with various Department of the Air Force standards and criteria.

Responsibilities

• Perform reviews, development, update, and coordination of Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) and Facilities Criteria (FC).
• Evaluate and assist with research, coordinate, document solution recommendations, and troubleshoot technical problems for installations.
• Update Architecture SME and Interior Design community websites, including content development.
• Provide support for facility project programming documents including scope verification and cost estimate reviews.
• Study commercially available and emerging technologies for architectural and engineering facility design.
• Assist in preparation and delivery of presentations at training programs and mentoring sessions.
• Document program files, organize files, and provide administrative support in the Air Force Civil Engineering Dashboard SharePoint Site.
• Perform 50-60 professional interior and architectural design reviews/assessments annually.
• Review 50-60 architectural design and interior design related documents annually.
• Perform 8-10 annual site visits.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years' experience performing facility interior design.
• Accredited Associate's degree or higher in an interior design program accredited by CIDA or equivalent.
• Demonstrated technical expertise for criteria development and review.
• Proficiency in MS Office software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
