About the position

The Interior Designer at SSOE will play a crucial role in designing and building innovative spaces for various market sectors, including education, corporate workplaces, and healthcare. This position emphasizes a collaborative approach within a dynamic architectural and engineering environment, focusing on delivering culturally significant designs that meet client needs and project goals.

Responsibilities

• Commuting to the Atlanta, GA office 2-3 days a week as part of a hybrid model.
• Working independently to address design challenges and make decisions that achieve project and client goals.
• Completing all phases of the design process including schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration on small to larger projects.
• Developing interior finish materials and construction details.
• Designing and preparing interior finish presentation boards for review by clients.
• Processing shop drawings and checking to ensure quality, accuracy, and completeness.
• Preparing technical specifications to suit project design requirements along with cost estimates and budgets.
• Working within an integrated architectural and interior design team to develop all phases of the design process and coordinate interior design with other disciplines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited school.
• 5-8 years of experience preferred as a Designer or equivalent in appropriate education and experience required.
• Proficiency in Revit.
• NCIDQ and LEED accreditation is a plus.
• Familiarity with 3D rendering software platforms, including Enscape and Lumion.
• Experience in Workplace Interiors and/or Office Building, Healthcare, Government, or Hospitality architectural sectors.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with furniture specifications is a plus but not required.
• Previous exposure to a broad range of market sectors is a plus.
