About the position

The Interior Designer at Red Thread is responsible for providing comprehensive design services to clients, focusing on furniture solutions that align with customer needs and organizational culture. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure high-quality implementation and customer satisfaction, while managing project budgets and timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with sales and clients to develop creative furniture solutions that meet project needs.
  • Attend customer planning meetings and present furniture concepts for review and approval.
  • Conduct site reviews, field measurements, and adherence checks to site plans.
  • Verify existing inventory and produce as-built drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct programming by interviewing customers and end-users, producing detailed reports.
  • Develop and present block and space plans to clients.
  • Select and present finish and material selections to customers.
  • Create finished working drawings for specifications and installation, ensuring accuracy against construction plans.
  • Develop product specifications and verify them against plans, producing order-ready specifications.
  • Manage changes and revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct field reviews during or after installation with project managers or installation crews.
  • Provide design budgets for projects and maintain daily timesheets.
  • Maintain detailed project documentation, including records of key decisions and approvals.
  • Manage adherence to project schedules and budgets, communicating regularly on assignment status.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior, Industrial, or Architectural Design (BS/BA/BFA).
  • 5+ years of experience in furniture, office, or space planning.
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and CET.
  • Basic proficiency in Revit.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Word.
  • Solid knowledge of best practices for furniture design and product knowledge.

  • Experience in a dealership or manufacturer setting.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
