The Department of Architectural & Engineering Services at the University of Oklahoma is seeking a talented Interior Designer to join our dynamic team. This department is responsible for providing professional and administrative services that direct the planning, design, and construction of new and renovated physical facilities across the university's three main campuses located in Norman, Oklahoma City, and Tulsa. As an Interior Designer, you will play a crucial role in developing interior finishes, product specifications, and furniture layouts for various capital projects and renovations. Your expertise will be essential in preparing architectural and interior layouts, managing furniture orders, and overseeing the installation of new furnishings. In this position, you will collaborate closely with university staff and faculty to gather project scopes and space requirements for new buildings or renovation projects. You will be responsible for determining the necessary finishes, fixtures, furniture, and equipment needs. Your role will also involve preparing bid documents, developing budgets, managing schedules, and ensuring that all selections are finalized and presented to end users. You will serve as the main point of contact for clients, vendors, and contractors, providing regular project updates and coordinating information effectively. The Interior Designer will also oversee the installation of furniture, fixtures, equipment, and interior finishes, performing final inspections and following up with end users to ensure satisfaction. Adherence to established project procedures and compliance with legally mandated requirements related to building interiors will be critical to your success in this role.
