About the position

DNA Workshop is seeking an experienced project interior designer to join our dynamic team at our Richmond, Virginia office. This full-time, contract position is ideal for self-motivated team players who possess excellent design and presentation skills and thrive in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing various interior design projects, particularly in multi-family and historic renovation sectors. Candidates should have a degree in Interior Design from an accredited college or university and possess 3 to 7 years of professional interior design experience. The role requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Strong verbal and graphic communication skills are essential, as is professional licensure and LEED® certification or a demonstrated path towards completion. Proficiency in design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Rhino, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office is mandatory. Responsibilities

  • Manage various interior design projects from concept to completion.
  • Collaborate with clients and team members to develop design solutions.
  • Prepare and present design proposals and presentations.
  • Utilize design software to create detailed drawings and specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor project progress.
  • Assist in the selection of materials, furnishings, and finishes.
  • Maintain project documentation and records.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from an accredited college/university.
  • 3-7 years of professional interior design experience.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Rhino, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent verbal and graphic communication skills.
  • Professional licensure and LEED® certification or a demonstrated path towards completion.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
