About the position

id|bp is seeking a Contract Interior Designer to assist in bringing our high-end, custom residential interior design and renovation projects to life. The primary role of this position is supporting our full-time design staff for a 6-month period. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a can-do attitude and enthusiasm to be part of a small but nimble team. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with experienced designers and contribute to a variety of projects that emphasize quality and creativity. As a Contract Interior Designer, you will efficiently assist in the design and management of high-end residential home renovations and furnishings. Your responsibilities will include developing design concepts and creating client-facing presentations, as well as interior space planning. You will be tasked with creating detailed interior design drawings for presentations and construction, selecting materials, finishes, furniture, and fixtures, and writing specifications for selections and ordering. Additionally, you will effectively utilize local showrooms and vendors for furniture and finish selections, assist with developing estimated budgets and scopes of work, and support lead designers with on-site installation and site visits. Effective communication will be key in this role, as you will need to liaise between the design team, clients, and contractors. You will also be expected to support our team in a variety of capacities and adapt as needs vary, ensuring that all projects are completed to the highest standards and within the designated timelines.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Degree in Interior Design
  • Experience in residential interior design preferred
  • Competency in AutoCAD or Revit (Revit preferred)
  • Ability to work with a team in a positive and supportive manner
  • Self-motivated
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management
  • Basic computer competencies (Microsoft Office, Google Suite)
