SJS Executives, LLC (SJS), also known as SJSIndustrial, is seeking a talented Interior Designer to support ongoing construction operations within a local VA healthcare facility. As a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) with a workforce of 150 employees across the country and a headquarters in Virginia Beach, Virginia, SJS specializes in providing professional services to federal and military organizations. The salary range for this position is between $56,000 and $63,000, and the company offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes 11 paid federal holidays, 80 hours of PTO accrual, and medical, dental, and vision insurance, among other benefits. The Interior Designer will be responsible for maintaining a comprehensive understanding of building codes and Joint Commission requirements for healthcare facilities, as well as managing third-party architectural and engineering contracts entered by the VA. This role involves assisting in the preparation of contract documents, reviewing drawings and specifications, and providing life safety and fire protection engineering reviews of design documents prior to solicitation. The designer will also track findings and recommendations to ensure appropriate corrections are made, manage design projects, and coordinate communications among the design team, construction team, VA staff, and other stakeholders. In addition, the Interior Designer will perform constructability and technical reviews of design documents, solicit design review comments from medical center stakeholders, and consolidate comments into a trackable format for the architectural and engineering (AE) team. The designer will provide recommendations on construction feasibility, availability of materials and labor, and factors related to cost, while also coordinating design reviews with the multi-disciplinary construction team and obtaining necessary signoffs at project milestones. Collaboration with interior design and medical equipment planners to incorporate furniture and equipment requirements into the design is also a key aspect of this role, ensuring alignment with procurement timelines.
