About the position

The Interior Designer position at Freeform involves collaborating with clients to create functional and aesthetically pleasing interior spaces. The role focuses on evaluating project needs, preparing design plans, and ensuring the successful execution of projects through effective communication and teamwork. The designer will utilize various software tools to produce detailed specifications and renderings, contributing to the company's mission of enhancing work environments and enriching lives.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with clients to evaluate project needs and create a scope of work.
  • Complete site visits to confirm field measurements and plan-to-site adherence checks.
  • Determine product selections based on application requirements, budget, and aesthetic preferences.
  • Prepare 2D space plans to confirm occupancies, orientations, and adjacencies within their space.
  • Develop typicals, document standards, and select product finishes.
  • Create 3D renderings with potential AR/VR capabilities.
  • Produce accurate product specifications and installation drawings using relevant software.
  • Work closely with account managers, operations team, and installation team to ensure order accuracy and meet client requirements.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in interior design from an accredited university.
  • Two+ years of experience working for a contract furniture dealership preferred.
  • Proficiency in using CET Designer preferred.
  • Experience using AutoCAD and/or Revit desired, not required.
  • Strong computer competency with the ability to quickly learn new technology.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and good at managing time and prioritizing tasks.
  • Proactive problem-solver committed to continuous improvement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working at a full-service design firm desired, not required.
  • Enjoys collaborating within a tight-knit team and has the ability for heads-down, autonomous work.
  • Enjoys helping clients and presenting design concepts.
