As an Interior Designer in our Ithaca, NY office, you will play a crucial role in the design process, requiring a comprehensive understanding of all disciplines involved in building design, including materials and systems. In this position, you will be responsible for preparing programmatic and functional analyses, as well as space planning as directed by the project architect or department manager. You will also prepare special graphics and technical specifications, and present specific plans, budgets, and estimates. Your role will involve the preparation and public presentation of color and finish material boards, reviewing submittals, shop drawings, and field construction installations. Additionally, you will meet with vendors and area representatives to stay updated on new and improved products, and you will assemble and maintain a library of resources for general office and Interior Design use. This position requires a Bachelor's degree and at least 6 years of related work experience, particularly within the K12 and Federal sectors. A strong knowledge of interior building codes, ADA compliance, finishes, fixtures, furnishings, and equipment is essential. Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Word, Excel, and BIM software such as Revit and/or Bentley is also required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial for success in this role.
