About the position

The Interior Designer position at IDG Studio is a full-time role based in Silver Spring, MD, requiring on-site presence. The position is designed for individuals with a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design and at least five years of professional experience in designing residential and commercial projects. Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office is essential, along with the ability to read construction plans. The candidate must demonstrate strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and be capable of maintaining a positive attitude in stressful situations. In this role, the Interior Designer will be responsible for constant communication with vendors and clients, creating and managing proposals, purchase orders, and billing summaries, as well as overseeing client budgets. The position also involves on-site measurements and photos, client meetings, and coordination of installations. Administrative duties such as answering phones, maintaining vendor lists, and managing office calendars are also part of the job. The designer will track and coordinate deliveries, work with subcontractors during renovations or construction, and oversee on-site project installations. Additionally, the role includes preparing presentations for clients and organizing schedules and spreadsheets to ensure smooth project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Constant communication with vendors and clients.
  • Create and manage proposals, purchase orders, and billing summaries.
  • Manage client budgets and follow up on orders.
  • Build installation schedules and perform on-site measurements and photos.
  • Conduct client meetings and coordinate on-site activities.
  • Assist with social networking platforms related to projects.
  • Perform administrative duties such as answering phones and maintaining contacts and vendor lists.
  • Track and coordinate all deliveries and work with subcontractors during renovations or construction.
  • Oversee on-site project installations and maintain communication with the principal, clients, and project teams.
  • Help prepare presentations for clients and organize schedules and spreadsheets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design (preferred).
  • 5+ years of professional experience in residential/commercial design (required).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office (required).
  • Ability to read construction plans (required).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
