About the position

The Interior Designer at Stantec is a mid-level professional responsible for creating cohesive interior design solutions that align with client needs and architectural direction. This role involves collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, producing design drawings, and presenting ideas while adhering to industry standards and ethical practices. The designer will advocate for design excellence and engage in creative problem-solving to enhance the human experience in interior spaces.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for design excellence and creativity within the practice of interior design.
• Collaborate between offices to support multiple project teams while maintaining the established project design vision.
• Participate in interdisciplinary teams and engage in dialog on design.
• Investigate technology to improve efficiencies in design processes.
• Communicate openly and honestly with respect and courtesy.
• Share knowledge with team members, clients, and partners.
• Anticipate client needs to consistently deliver excellent client service.
• Solicit input from team members and seek guidance to address challenges.
• Follow established standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Engage with a professional organization outside the firm that contributes to the visibility of the firm.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Interior Design or related field is required.
• Minimum of four years of related experience is preferred.
• Interior Design License is preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and SketchUp.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Newforma and recent modeling software.
• Portfolio showcasing design work.
