About the position

The Interior Designer at Haskell will play a pivotal role in shaping impactful spaces through innovative design. This mid-career position involves collaboration with architects, engineers, and construction experts on federal projects, focusing on delivering exceptional design visions. The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities from programming and space planning to construction documentation and administration, ensuring compliance with building codes and sustainability requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform interior design duties related to programming, space planning, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.
  • Determine and satisfy building code and sustainability requirements.
  • Select and specify interior finishes, furniture, lighting, artwork, and interior signage.
  • Produce presentation graphics in the form of drawings, sketches, and 3D models to convey design vision to clients and end users.
  • Generate interior construction documents including finish plans, furniture plans, elevations, sections, details, and schedules.
  • Coordinate with the design and construction team, consultants, vendors, and owners.
  • Participate in field verification, site inspections, shop drawing review, and other related construction administration activities.
  • Collaborate with other interior design staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design from a CIDA accredited school.
  • 5-8 years of interior design experience.
  • NCIDQ Certification is required.
  • Federal project experience is highly preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Sustainability credentials such as LEED AP or WELL AP preferred.
  • Proficiency in Revit and knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, 3ds Max, Rhino, Lumion, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) are not required but preferred.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
