About the position

The Interior Installation Technician II is responsible for the removal, installation, and fabrication of aircraft interiors under general supervision. This role ensures that all work meets company design specifications and quality standards, contributing to the overall customer satisfaction. The technician will work with various materials and components, including cabinetry, panels, and soundproofing, while adhering to safety and operational procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Safely perform aircraft removal, installation, and/or fabrication of aircraft interiors including galleys, closets, lavatories, and panels.
  • Coordinate with supervision and Inspection to ensure compliance with Repair Station procedures and quality specifications.
  • Use the material tracking system to create parts demand and track work progress.
  • Follow standard operating procedures when using tools and equipment such as hand tools, band saws, and sanders.
  • Properly care for and maintain shop equipment and tools.
  • Prepare and install aircraft interior items in accordance with company operation procedures and quality standards.
  • Remove and re-install nut plates, inserts, and other fasteners used in aircraft interiors.
  • Apply proper use of hardware and fittings on aircraft installations.
  • Comply with safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies and use personal protective equipment as required.
  • Assist technicians, under supervision, with aircraft maintenance requirements.
  • Adapt to sudden schedule changes.
  • Work with lead and higher skilled technicians to develop and implement process improvements using Lean Six Sigma techniques.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years of application installation, fabrication or related experience preferred.
  • Experience in the aerospace industry is preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
  • Ability to use hand/power tools and equipment associated with installation and removal of interiors.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma process improvement techniques.
