About the position

The Boeing Company is seeking an Interiors Integration Engineer to join our team in Tukwila, WA, focusing on the next generation Presidential Aircraft, VC-25B. This role is critical as it involves interfacing with customers, suppliers, and various Boeing teams to manage design, requirements, certification, and program management, addressing complex technical challenges. The engineer will concentrate on specific areas of the interior, including passenger seats, lighting, ceilings, sidewalls, floors, monuments, and furnishings, while maintaining communication with USAF counterparts to ensure customer needs are met in supplier interactions. This position is high visibility, directly supporting the VC-25B program's goals and initiatives. It offers an opportunity to broaden skills across multiple engineering disciplines and business units. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, possess excellent interpersonal skills, and be capable of negotiating and building consensus. A quick learner who can grasp complex technical concepts across various disciplines is essential for success in this role. The Interiors Integration Engineer will be responsible for developing, integrating, and documenting structural and interior payload system requirements, maintaining and modifying designs using 3-D CAD tools, and validating systems and components against specifications. The role requires managing supplier development and production activities, developing new design processes, and working under general direction. This hybrid position requires some onsite work at the discretion of the hiring team and necessitates the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, with U.S. Citizenship being a requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, integrate and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design.
  • Develop, maintain and modify structural and interior payload system and component designs using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools (CATIA / ENOVIA).
  • Perform, integrate analytical and test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
  • Manage supplier development, test and production activities and coordinate with suppliers to optimize design and achieve program goals.
  • Develop new design/analysis processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort.
  • Work under general direction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 3+ years' experience working with commercial payload systems and/or interiors.
  • 3+ years of experience establishing relationships and maintaining strong ongoing communication with customers, suppliers, and/or vendors.
  • Experience working across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Proven experience as a self-starter with strong written and oral communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience leading projects through the design and initial implementation phases with handoffs to production installations.
  • Experience directly interfacing with customers and senior program leadership.
  • Experience with CATIA / ENOVIA release processes.
  • Experience with Military or Commercial Derivative Aircraft.
  • Experience with delivery and certification processes, working with FAA regulations.
