About the position

WQB Architecture is seeking an Intermediate Architectural Designer with 3-6+ years of professional experience to join their Manhattan office. The role involves leading design projects, managing consultant teams, interfacing with clients, and collaborating closely with the firm principal from conception to completion. The ideal candidate should possess strong design skills and aesthetic sensibilities that align with the firm's focus on housing, hospitality, and mixed-use projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead design projects from conception to completion.
• Manage consultant teams and interface with clients.
• Collaborate closely with the firm principal on project development.
• Participate in design projects and initiatives within the firm.

Requirements

• A professional degree in Architecture, M Arch, preferably in New York City.
• 3-6+ years of full-time professional experience in architecture.
• Strong digital design skills, fluency with AutoCAD and SketchUp.
• Experience with multiple phases of the design process from concept to completion.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Experience producing architectural documentation for construction.
• Familiarity with the New York City Building Code, Zoning Resolution, Energy Code, and DOB filing documents and procedures.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and computational design.
• Strong aesthetic sensibilities and intellectual point of view.
