About the position

ECS is seeking an Intermediate Budget Analyst to work in our Huntsville, AL office. This position supports the Missile Defense Agency and is primarily remote, although it may require occasional onsite work to support customer meetings related to classified work. The Intermediate Budget Analyst will be responsible for managing and sending funding documents to performing activities in a timely manner, ensuring that financial execution metrics are planned, collected, and reported effectively. The role requires strong communication skills to interact with both internal and external customers effectively. In addition to managing current and prior year funds efficiently, the analyst will allocate resources to meet mission priorities, develop and maintain accurate financial tools, reconcile invoices, and sweep unliquidated obligations. The analyst will collaborate with cost estimating and engineering teams to create realistic obligation and expenditure spend plans for the life of the funds. Furthermore, the analyst will analyze, track, and manage program budget shortfalls and surpluses to realign and rephase the total portfolio budget, minimizing and avoiding reprogramming actions. This role is critical in ensuring that the financial aspects of the projects are handled with precision and that the agency's mission priorities are met without unnecessary delays or complications.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • SECRET DoD Security Clearance required.
  • Capable of executing tasks associated with budget execution for complex weapon systems.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team in solving complex problems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to multi-task, effectively manage time, and work under firm and quick turn-around deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Planning, problem solving, data collection, and analytical skills.
  • DFAS experience.
