About the position

The Cloud Engineer position at Manulife involves joining the Global Retirement Team within the Global Wealth and Asset Management Segment. The role focuses on the implementation and support of AWS Connect and Contact Center modernization initiatives, contributing to a company that values data and aims to make a significant impact in the finance sector. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to design architectures that align with business and technology visions, ensuring the successful execution of key company initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with Product and Technology teams to craft architecture that enables business and technology vision.
  • Designing for both functional and non-functional qualities, including availability, resiliency, security, and privacy.
  • Assisting the business in the scoping and planning of upcoming initiatives and roadmap items.
  • Participating in or leading the production of conceptual, solution, and component-level architectures and associated artifacts.
  • Reviewing, advising, and providing feedback on architectures produced within and outside the team.
  • Business Process modeling and developing data-driven solutions.
  • Leading the end-to-end solution design and architecture for key company initiatives.
  • Developing reference architecture and reference implementation patterns.
  • Mentoring and growing other technologists within the firm.
  • Contributing to or leading the definition of standards, guidance, and points-of-view that enable engineers to thrive.
  • Helping to develop and revise governance processes to ensure alignment of technology projects with the enterprise target state vision.
  • Presenting architecture and innovative ideas to executive leadership for alignment and decision making.
  • Connecting business and technical insights to develop innovative proposals for evolving Manulife's platforms.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of core programming experience in an enterprise environment utilizing Java.
  • Experience with AWS Connect and Contact Center modernization software engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, coding, testing, and supporting multiple AWS Connect implementations.
  • Practical experience with integrating AWS Connect and Salesforce CTI.
  • Experience in designing and implementing Framework and API / Service Layer such as NodeJS, Spring Boot, Swagger, and Stoplight.io.
  • Proficiency with AWS native services that integrate with AWS Connect, including EC2, S3, Cloudwatch, Lambda, and DynamoDB.
  • Experience in Cloud PaaS and microservice architectures in Kubernetes and AWS.
  • Solid understanding of security protocols such as Oauth2, AuthN/AuthZ.
  • Experience implementing multi-factor authentication, single sign-on, and Identity management.
  • Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management tools such as AWS CloudFormation and Terraform.
  • Understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
