Fogarty Finger Architecture, an award-winning New York architecture and interiors firm, is seeking a talented and motivated Intermediate Designer with a focus on interior projects. The successful candidate will work closely with the project team and take a leadership role on multiple projects of various scales. This role encompasses management and production responsibilities throughout all phases of any particular project, ensuring that the design vision is realized effectively and efficiently. The firm is looking for a candidate who possesses strong design and technical skills, along with a broad range of local experience in the field of architecture and interior design. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 7 years of relevant post-graduate experience in the U.S. and hold a professional degree in Architecture or Interiors from an accredited institution. They should have experience in a wide range of projects, including high-end commercial, amenity/hospitality, and corporate interiors. Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite is essential, with at least 4 years of professional experience in these tools. Familiarity with Sketchup and Enscape is preferred. The candidate must be able to maintain and optimize the efficiency and accuracy of Revit models and produce well-coordinated construction documents. Additionally, the candidate should have experience coordinating with various consultants during the design development (DD), construction documents (CD), and construction administration (CA) phases, along with a functional knowledge of MEP and lighting basics. A strong understanding of architectural detailing and the ability to draft custom elements is crucial. Knowledge of applicable local codes and regulations, including those specific to New York City, is also required. The candidate will be expected to manage all aspects of construction administration, including coordination with trades and consultants in the field, conducting site surveys, and reviewing submittals and shop drawings. The role requires the ability to run a project from initial concept through construction administration under the supervision of a project manager, as well as mentoring junior staff. Strong communication and coordination skills are necessary to effectively liaise with consultants, clients, and contractors. The candidate should be able to translate concepts into real-world, constructible designs and prepare presentation materials with clear graphic communication. A detail-oriented, hard-working, and independently motivated individual with a desire to thrive in a fast-paced environment will be well-suited for this position. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to travel within the NYC metro area for regular site visits, surveys, and meetings.
