About the position

The Intermediate Metallurgical Technician position at Pratt & Whitney involves performing equipment setup, sample preparation, and analysis of various materials. This role is essential for maintaining quality standards in the production process and requires a strong mechanical aptitude. The technician will work primarily onsite during the 5th shift, which runs from Friday to Sunday, 7 PM to 7 AM.

Responsibilities

• Perform equipment set up and sample preparation independently.
• Conduct analysis on a wide variety of materials using established methods and techniques.
• Maintain equipment according to Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) requirements.
• Organize, report, and maintain records of analysis.
• Perform visual inspections for cleanliness on various production equipment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must be a U.S. Person or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations.
• Ability to work overtime when required.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs independently.
• Strong mechanical aptitude is required.
• Comfortable working at heights.
• Ability to look through an optical microscope for extended periods (up to 2 hours).
• Physically capable of bending, lifting, squatting, twisting, overhead reaching, standing for long periods (up to 8 hours), and climbing stairs.
