About the position

WesTech Engineering LLC is seeking an Intermediate Power BI Developer to join their technical team. This role focuses on developing, deploying, and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards to support various departments in making data-driven decisions. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in data analysis and reporting, with the ability to create actionable insights from complex data sources.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with business units to understand their data needs and develop solutions that meet these requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide technical guidance on BI solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights for stakeholders.
• Create and modify existing reports, ensuring data accuracy and visual consistency.
• Participate in troubleshooting and problem-solving related to BI tools and data visualizations.
• Analyze complex datasets and translate them into easy-to-understand visual reports.
• Optimize data models for performance and scalability within the Power BI ecosystem.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of experience in developing Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Associates degree or higher in a related field.
• Solid understanding of Power BI features, including DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and Power Query.
• Strong proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries.
• Experience in data warehouse (DW), data modeling, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and relational databases.
• Experience in handling data sources like SQL Server, Excel, and cloud-based platforms.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
• Familiarity with other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, QlikView) is a plus.
• Understanding of Azure and cloud-based data architecture is a bonus.
• Experience with Python or R for data analysis is desirable.
