About the position

The Intermediate Web Application Developer at The Auto Club Group (ACG) is responsible for providing technical support for the company's websites and intranet. This role involves collaborating with various departments to create and maintain web applications, ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of web content, and utilizing various programming languages and tools to develop and optimize web pages. The position requires a strong understanding of web development practices and the ability to conduct user testing to maintain high standards of data accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for ACG websites and intranet.
  • Collaborate with various departments and internet partners on creating and maintaining web applications.
  • Support the web content management system.
  • Develop and implement website content and applications with project teams.
  • Develop web pages using various software applications and development tools.
  • Maintain technical site aspects such as search engine techniques and link integrity.
  • Identify and resolve bugs and defects in web applications.
  • Add content tags and update tracking features to optimize marketing efforts.
  • Use HTML, JavaScript, Visual Basic, and other programming languages for web development.
  • Create reporting and tracking tools for departmental analysis of web content effectiveness.
  • Conduct user testing for system changes to ensure data accuracy and integrity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience with .Net development using C#, ASP.Net, MS SQL, and VB.
  • Experience with Web Services, particularly Web API, JSON, REST, SOAP, and XML.
  • Experience with front-end development including JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, debugging, and troubleshooting.
  • Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and N-Tier architecture.
  • Knowledge and experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
  • Experience with GIT or other version control software.
  • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated experience in web development.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with mobile platforms and apps.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging web content practices and procedures.
  • Familiarity with content management systems and approval process flow.
